Medical Deductions
Tax Preparer Hemet would like to remind all tax payers who are submitting their own tax returns to remember to use Form1040, Schedule A when itemizing your medical and dental deductions. The total amount of expenses will need to exceed 7.5 percent of your adjusted gross income. The expenses can come from medical or dental costs pertaining to yourself, your spouse or dependent. There are some exceptions to that rule, so visit with your local CPA to make sure you have all the qualifying individuals. Make sure you have receipts for all of the costs you will be listing to verify that you paid for that tax year.
