Topsail Island, NC Things To Do: Missiles and More Museum
Take a drive down Topsail Island into the Town of Topsail Beach and step into The Missiles & More Museum at the Assembly Building. Located towards the South End of Topsail Island NC this is a rainy day MUST SEE! If you can not enjoy the beach why not enjoy the history of Topsail Island. The Museum’s highlights include pirates who sailed the local surrounding waters.
The island was also named by such pirates because they would hide their boats in the sound until a treasure ship went by and they would come out and pillage it. The sailors on the treasure ships were forced to look high above the trees to see if they could find any “Topsails” of pirate ships, in order to avoid possible trouble pirates were looking to make.
